BHUBANESWAR: On Monday, Nighat Parbeen, FRA, office of Sub-Collector, Kuchinda, in Sambalpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while taking 2nd instalment bribe of Rs.8,000/- from a Complaint to process file for issuance of IFR for a group of beneficiaries under Forest Rights Act.
Earlier, accused Nighat Parbeen had taken Rs.15,000/- as 1st installment from the complaint. and was demanding the balance bribe Rs.8,000/- more to process their cases. Today, she was nabbed while accepting balance bribe Rs.8000/- from the complaint.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No.07/2024 U/s 7 P.C. Act, 1988 as amended by P.C. Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress.
