BHUBANESWAR: On Tuesday, a short while ago, Smt. Nibedita Mohanty, Asst.Engineer(AE), Jatni Block, Dist-Khordha has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) at her residence in Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar from a Contractor (complainant) for clearing his pending bill towards construction of Govt. constructions under Jatni Block by complaint.
The entire bribe amount has been recovered from accused Smt. Mohanty, AE and seized.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Smt Mohanty from DA angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No. 16/2024 u/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.Investigation is in progress against Smt. Nibedita Mohanty, AE, Jatni Block. Detailed report follows.
