PURI/BHUBANESWAR:  The Puri police are getting praise from all quarters for making very disciplined arrangements for the Darshan of Lord Jagannath. While people returning from the darshan of the Lord are heaping praise on the state government and the Puri police, some devotees do not hesitate to say that they deserve to get 100 to 100 numbers for such arrangements of the police.

The police administration was hell-bent on how to streamline the new year in view of the rush of devotees. It was supervised by Superintendent of Police K Vishal Singh under the direct supervision of IGP Central Zone Dr Ashish Singh. From the queue of devotees from Bada danda to ensuring that the three Deits can have a smooth darshan inside the temple.

However, the state government’s newly constructed air-conditioned tunnel for the devotees was of great help. Devotees queued up in air-conditioned tunnels and got a chance to sit when required. Toilets were arranged for them recently. So the devotees did not feel as tired as before. The police administration was also keeping a close watch on it.

As per the earlier announcement of the administration, Darshan arrangements have been in place since the night of 31st. Around 3.75 lakh devotees have already paid obeisance inside the temple till this evening. However, no untoward incident has been reported due to the alertness of the police.

Parmita Mukherjee, a teacher from West Bengal, who was returning to Badadanda after darshan, lauded the police administration’s arrangements and said that the police administration should get 100 to 100 marks for this. Similarly, Sweta from Chhattisgarh, Surekha Ravikant from Pune with her family, Kalpana Sethi from Khordha, Purnima and Ashutosh from Patna and Ishwar Shravan Mishra from Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda have heaped praise on the state government and Puri police’s darshan arrangements.
