NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: New age energy minerals are important for India’s economic development and building a sustainable future. “India must leverage its mining expertise and strategic relationships to access and extract these resources,” said Mr Subhrakant Panda, President, FICCI and MD, IMFA during the launch of a Report on “New Age Energy Minerals,” prepared by FICCI.
The Report was launched by Mr Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, at New Delhi on May 02, 2023.
FICCI report on New Age Energy Minerals gives an overview of geographical and geological data, value chains, end-use sectors, market outlook, and long-term demand for each mineral, along with challenges and opportunities, and key recommendations.
During his keynote address Mr Panda highlighted the importance of mining for India’s GDP. He emphasized on ongoing exploration, enhanced technology adoption, and increased efficiencies to augment production of new age energy minerals. He also urged for building integrated supply chains to achieve the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Mr Pankaj Satija, Co-Chair, FICCI Mining Committee, FICCI Secretary General, Mr Shailesh Pathak and other industry leaders were present.
