BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Police have arrested Fugitive Ex -Boy Friend Advik Srivastava in connection with the Nepali Student Prakriti Lamsal alleged Suicide inside KIIT University Campus hostel.
The victim was a B Tech Third Year Student, sources said. Nepali Student committed suicide inside her Hostel following her ex boyfriend , Advik Srivastava harassed her.
Accused fled by flight, tickets of which are available with www.indianewsdiary.com . But later police arrested him.
“The university is closed sine die for all international students from Nepal. They are hereby directed to vacate the university campus immediately on 17th February, 2025,” the notice read.
Sources known to the late night or wee hours incident said, today a student named Prakriti Lamsal committed suicide In KIIT University. The University was trying everything to suppress this issue.
This accused guy tried to harass her and then tried to escape the city. She tried to save herself. A month before her tragic death, she reached out to the International Relations Office (IRO) at her college (KIIT University) , desperate for help. She reported the abuse, the mental harassment, and the unbearable suffering, sources said.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and took cognizance of the escalating situation. Two platoons of police force were deployed at the university campus to pacify the agitating students and maintain law and order situation.
As per reports, the deceased was reportedly in a relationship with a mechanical engineering student at the same university since the last three-years. However, their relationship took a downturn when the boy received a job offer and relocated, which led to a misunderstanding.
On the other hand, an audio clip allegedly featuring a conversation between Advik and Prakriti has surfaced on social media and gone viral. In the clip, a young man was heard abusing and harassing a girl.
