Brief Of the case –
On January 26, 2025, a house burglary was reported at the residence of Shri Deb Jyoti Pattanayak under the jurisdiction of Nayapalli PS. He alleged that, at around 2:30 AM, an intruder entered his house in Nayapalli, IRC Village, and was recorded on CCTV before disabling the camera in the bedroom. The intruder stole valuables, including jewelry worth approximately 50 lakhs and ₹2.5 lakhs in cash.
- This case was a challenging case for Commissionerate Police because family of a senior leader and public figure was the victim.
There was no clue left by the accused at the spot.
- Comprehensive investigation was carried out to detect the case and recover the stolen articles.
- Multiple teams were formed each dedicated to a specific task.
- More than 400 CCTV cameras analysed spreading over BBSR, Sompeta, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram.
- Technical investigation was done (more than 10,000 mobile numbers verified).
- More than 40 MO criminals were checked across three states.
- Assistance of AP Police and Kerala Police was also taken.
- Information / records from jails from AP and Kerala were obtained.
- Team has travelled more than 5000 kms following the trail of the thief in three states and camped for 14 days.
Physical and electronic surveillance was maintained on his movement.
. The accused was arrested from Vizianagaram- Vishakhapatnam area of A.P.

Modus Operandi / Criminal Background of the Accused :-
Karri Satti Babu is a habitual interstate property offender with more than 100 property offense cases (out of which 11 cases ended in conviction) registered against him in different states, including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, and Odisha. He was recently released from Trivandrum Central Jail on 04.09.2024 in connection with Mangalpuram PS Crime Nos. 482/24, 488/24, 489/24, Thiruvananthapuram Rural District, Kerala.
He was bound down twice under Andhra Pradesh Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Dacoits, Drug offenders, Gunddas, Immoral traffic offenders & Land grabbers ACT 1986.
The accused is a habitual house burglar who targets apartments and villas in city areas and commits night burglary for personal gain and to fund his lavish lifestyle.
He uses a torch light, hand gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints at the crime scene, shoes to avoid leaving footprints, a mask to cover his face, screwdrivers, and other housebreaking tools.
On 25/26.01.2025, he entered the complainant’s house through a glass sliding window and used the same window to escape after committing the burglary.
He uses Buses and taxies to travel from one to another city for commission of crime & never use mobile phones during crime.
Previously he was lodged in different jails of Southern Indian States and targets only rich and high profile VIP’s house.
He is also involved in Nayapali PS Case No.489/2023, U/s-454/380 IPC.
