BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday unveiled Architectural Plan for the Shree Jagannath Heritage Corridor project. Patnaik has said that the names of all who have donated their land for the Shree Jagannath Heritage Corridor project will be engraved for eternity in the Heritage Corridor.
Patnaik said he has dedicated architectural plan for the Heritage Corridor project to the people of Odisha.The Odisha CM said the government has solicited suggestions from the people by Jan 15, 2020, on the draft plan and it will be finalised by February 2020.
Patnaik said the essence of the project is to instill a sense of satisfaction among the devotees that they have landed in a place of worship that is unique in all aspects. He said the periphery developmental works around the temple is to provide basic amenities to the pilgrims.
Accordingly, an advanced queue system will be developed along with resting facilities at some points. Besides, better facilities will be developed for devotees to wash hands and feet before entering the temple premises, ambient lighting, CCTV surveillance, drinking water, and public toilets. Further, the security layer around the temple will be also tightened. Moreover, arrangements will be made for tourists and devotees to learn more about the various aspects of Jagannath Culture and different “Beshas” of Lord Jagannath on various occasions.
Dwelling upon the heritage corridor, the 5T secretary V K Pandian went down the memory lane and said the plan came to the fore when he visited Jagannath Temple along with the Chief Minister in January 2016.
Pandian said during the visit he could notice that the honourable chief minister was even paying respect to the hoardings with photographs of lord Jagannath perched on either side of Badadanda.
