Naveen Patnaik’s Zero Tolerance to Corruption hits 164 Officers so far

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik zero tolerance on corruption and corrupted officials have taken jobs of as many as 164 officers so far in Odisha.

The State Government on Wednesday showed doors to six tainted officers, aChief Engineer, three Executive Engineers and two Block Education Officers (BEOs).

Till date, as many as 164 officers have been given compulsoryretirement and their pensions have been stopped in accordance with Chief Minister’s policy of zero tolerance to corruption and inefficiency, said an official statement.

Of the new axed officials, Sambalpur Electrical Division Chief Engineer Sunil Kumar Panda had earlier been suspended from the job for possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs 3.26 crore.

Brahmpaur Rural Works Electrical Division Executive Engineer JagannathSethihad also been suspended for acquiring illegal assets worth Rs 7.63 crore.

Vigilance cases were also pending against Bhubaneswar Electrical Division Deputy Inspector Deepak Kumar Bhuyan.

Apart from them,the Government also dismissed BEO AntaryamiBehera posted at Gunupur block in Rayagada district and BEO Braja Kumar NayakofNuagad block in Kandhamal district.
