Naveen Patnaik’s Response to COVID-19 limited to Procurement Scam-Media Gagging, Niranjan Patnaik Hits Back

    BHUBANESWAR: With Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and BJP’s National VP-Spokesperson Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda fighting a shadow war through BMC-Capital Police and OTV-Ortel, Odisha PCC Chief Niranjan Patnaik was on Wednesday hit at the State Government and alleged that the Patnaik Government’s response to COVID-19 was limited to Procurement Scam-Media Gagging.

    “Many Odias are dying from Corona virus and about 49,000 more are infected.While the situation has been continuously worsening, CM @Naveen_Odisha ’s response can be summed up in 2 points: medical procurement scam and gagging of the media,” tweeted Niranjan Patnaik@NPatnaikOdisha.

    Patnaik argued that more than 49,000 have been tested positive while 1341 positive cases reported in last 24 hours and in last 10 days, 120 people have died.

    On Wednesday, 9 fresh deaths including 4 from Ganjam, home turf of Chief Minister Patnaik,  reported, taking the total of Odisha’s COVID-19 death to 305. Odisha’s COVID-19 tally crossed 50K-mark today as 1876 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, the State Information & Public Relations Department said.

    While 1182 cases were reported from quarantine centres, 694 are local contacts, the department said. Khurda reported the highest 297 cases followed by Ganjam 260, Sundergarh 119, Cuttack 109and Nayagarh 105 respectively, it added.
