Naveen Patnaik’s Home turf Ganjam brings nightmarish for Odisha Government

BHUBANESWAR: After Bhubaneswar and Jajpur, the Ganjam , home turf of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has started giving sleepless nights to State Government with the southern district alone reported 71 positive cases out of the total 270 cases.

Sources said as many as 24 more persons from Ganjam district tested positive for the virus taking the tally to 270 while Ganjam alone reported 71 forcing the Chief Minister Patnaik to depute 3 senior IAS officers to man the troubled district while joining hands with district administration.

The 3 IAS officers were P Anwesha Reddy, the Managing Director of Odisha Mining Corporation, Patil Ashis Ishwar, Managing Director Of GRIDCO and Hemakanta Sai, Managing Director Of OTDC.

All of them have been identified as Surat returnees. With this, the number of active cases in the state stood at 205 while 63 patients have recovered so far while 2 died. Ganjam district surpassed Jajpur district in number of positive cases as 71 cases have been reported from Ganjam so far, sources said.

Ganjam reported 71 followed by Jajpur 55, Khurda, 50, Balasore 27, Bhadrak 24,Sundargarh 12, Kendrapara 8, Jagatsinghpur 5, Mayurbhanj 4, Balangir, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Cuttack and Kalahandi reported each 2 while Koraput, Deogarh, Dhenkanal and Puri reported 1 each.
