BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: Soon after BJP National JP Nadda’s telephone call, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik , who is out of India now, deputed 2 of his Cabinet Colleagues Ministers Jagannath Saraka and Tukuni Sahu to sign nomination papers of NDA presidential nominee Droupadi Murmu.
Both Saraka and Sahu flanked by Party’s National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP, Dr Sasmit Patra, have met Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi , Bhupinder Singh and BJP National general secretary Arun Singh and convey party’s support to NDA nominee and signed the nomination papers. Both Ministers will be present on Friday during the filing of papers.
‘BJP President Shri @JPNadda ji spoke to me about the filing of nomination of Smt #DraupadiMurmu ji for #PresidentElection. My cabinet colleagues Shri @saraka_fanand Smt @TukuniSahu will sign nomination papers today and attend the event tomorrow.#OdishaLeads,’ CM Naveen Patnaik tweeted.
Meanwhile, amid an enthusiastic crowd, mostly of them, BJP supporters, the NDA’s president candidate and Odisha’s tribal, Draupadi Murmu on Thursday left for New Delhi to file her nomination papers.
Murmu left for the airport this morning for Delhi where she will be filing her nomination for the Presidential election scheduled to be held on July 18, BJP sources said.
Among others, Party State President Samir Mohanty, Bhubaneswar MP and National Spokesperson, Aparajita Sarangi, Golak Mohapatra and others given a grand see off to Murmu, who mostly likely to occupy the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
