BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday spoken to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seekig his intervention into for safe evacuation of stranded Odia students and labourers from the war torn Ukraine.CM Patnaik has announced that the State Government will bear the expenses for bringing back Students and Workers of Odisha stranded in Ukraine. Development Commissioner P.K. Jena to coordinate the return of stranded persons.
Shah assured Odisha CM that India Government is in touch with the Ukraine Government and working to bring back students and labourers from Ukraine at the earliest.
“Sometimes, the world of social media can be cruel towards fellow humans. Instead of sympathising with the people stranded in Ukraine, they are subjecting them to taunts. Their calls for help are being made fun of. Many Odia students are trapped in Ukraine. I appeal to PM Narendra Modi and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to take urgent steps to evacuate them safely to India,” Odisha PCC President Niranjan Patnaik said.
