BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday offered his deepest condolences and remembered legendary singer Akshya Mohanty aka Khoka Bhai on his Birth Day.Chief Minister Patnaik while lauding the melodious voice and mind-blowing music composed by the late singer cum director, said , Akshya Mohanty will be remembered for a long-time for his songs and music.
“ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସଙ୍ଗୀତ ଜଗତର କିମ୍ବଦନ୍ତୀ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିତ୍ୱ ଅକ୍ଷୟ ମହାନ୍ତିଙ୍କ ଜୟନ୍ତୀରେ ମୋର ଶ୍ରଦ୍ଧାଞ୍ଜଳି। ତାଙ୍କ ନିଆରା ସଙ୍ଗୀତ ରଚନା ତଥା ପରିବେଷଣ ଶୈଳୀ ଏବେ ବି ଶ୍ରୋତାଙ୍କ ହୃଦୟରେ ସ୍ଵତନ୍ତ୍ର ସ୍ଥାନ ଅଧିକାର କରିଛି। ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସଙ୍ଗୀତ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ତାଙ୍କ ଅବଦାନ ପାଇଁ ସେ ସର୍ବଦା ସ୍ମରଣୀୟ ରହିବେ।,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted@Naveen_Odisha.

Akshaya Mohanty aka Khoka Bhai, was an legendary Indian odia singer, lyricist, composer, musician and writer. He has contributed Odia Bhajans, Odissi songs, folk songs, film and non-film modern light songs in Odisha on contemporary themes and ballads based on popular legends in Odisha.Born on October 12 in 1934 in Kendrapara, the late singer was died on 17 November 17 in 2002 in Cuttack.
