TALCHER/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik virtually joined with Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines, Pralhad Joshi and Union Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at the inauguration of Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College and Hospital in Talcher in Odisha on Friday.
The Hospital has been built by the CSR funds of Mahanadi Coal Fields Ltd, a subsidiary of Coal India under Ministry of Coal.
Union Minister Joshi while addressing the gathering, spoke about how the Coal Ministry plan to develop it into a Super Specialty Hospital and utilise it as a teaching facility for the upcoming Medical College.
Union Minister Pradhan thanked MCL for taking over the management of the hospital for providing financial support and incidental expenses of around Rs 1600 Crore . Expressing gratitude to the State Government, Pradhan requested Odisha Chief Minister Patnaik to take necessary steps to give the status of a Medical College to this as soon as possible.
‘Due to the policies and reforms of the Modi government, the economy of the whole of India, including Odisha, is getting stronger. All of us have a responsibility to speed up the development of this district and provide more and more facilities to the people as the mineral rich region contributes crores of rupees to the state exchequer of Odisha and India,’ Pradhan said.
