Naveen Patnaik Lays Foundation Stone of Cuttack’s Netaji Bus Terminal

    BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: On the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of NetajiSubhasChandraBose, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday laid the foundation stone of Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal in the city of birth of the illustrious son of Odisha. The state of art terminal will promote hassle-free movement of passengers.

    “Tribute on the birth anniversary of renowned freedom fighter Brave Surendra Saan. His strength and sacrifice in the armed fight against British in Sambalpur for the sake of the selfishness of the tribals and the general public is always memorable,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted @Naveen_Odisha.

    Paying tributes to the great patriot, Chief Minister Patnaik said that Netaji was born and brought up in Cuttack. He learnt his lessons of selfless service & struggle on this soil. To give him a fitting tribute Odisha will celebrate his 125th anniversary with much fanfare throughout the year.

    The new Netaji bus terminal, Cuttack will be state-of-the-art facilities to promote hassle-free movement of passengers from arrival to departure, said a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office. The Interstate Bus terminal will have a built-up area of 11,000 sq.m. There will be 180 bus bays along with parking space for 274 vehicles in the ISBT. Area of around two acres adjoining the proposed Netaji Bus Terminal, Cuttack will be reserved for development of commercial complex on Public Private Partnership mode. The terminal is being developed at a cost of around Rs 65-crore.
