BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik along with Union Minister for Civil Aviation & Steel, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation General VK Singh on Thursday flag off first flight between State Capital of Bhubaneswar and newly inaugurated Utkela Airport in Kalahandi district of the State.
A 9-seater IndiaOne Air flight left for Utkela from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here at around 10.30 AM.Utkela became be the fifth airport in Odisha after BPIA, Jharsuguda, Jeypore and Rourkela to start flight operations.
‘Glad to flag off first flight between #Bhubaneswar and newly inaugurated Utkela Airport in #Kalahandi district. The airport has added yet another golden chapter to #Odisha’s aviation sector. It will boost connectivity, commerce & tourism, fulfilling aspirations of people of the region,” CM Patnaik said.
“पूर्वी भारत ने सदैव अपनी समृद्ध संस्कृति, कला और सभ्यता से देश के आर्थिक और सामाजिक विकास में योगदान दिया है, और आज जब भारत अपने अमृतकाल में आगे बढ़ रहा है तो इस क्षेत्र का विकास हमारी प्राथमिकता है। इसी संकल्प के साथ आज, न केवल उत्केला (कालाहांडी) में नए हवाईअड्डे का बल्कि #RCS_UDAN योजना के तहत उत्केला और भुवनेश्वर के बीच नई विमान सेवा का श्री @Naveen_Odishaजी व श्री @Gen_VKSingh जी के साथ उद्घाटन किया।मुझे पूर्ण विश्वास है कि इससे न केवल ओडिशा के नागर विमानन क्षेत्र को नए पंख मिलेंगे बल्कि रोजगार, उद्यमिता और समावेशी विकास को नया बल भी मिलेगा।,” Union Minister for Civil Aviation & Steel, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia said.
