BHUBANESWAR: Till Thursday noon, Odisha’s COVID-19 positive cases reach at 206 including 143 active, 61 cured and 2 dead. The Spin doctors manning the power-packed Lok Seva Bhawan and politically busy, Naveen Niwas, the CMO and as well as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s residence seems helpless with the dreaded disease spreading like bullet and hitting State’s east to west and north to south.
On Thursday 20 reported positive including 17 were from Ganjam, home turf of Naveen, and mostly returned from Gujarat’s Surat while rest 3 were reported from Mayurbhanj. All of the 20 cases have been identified as Surat returnee and male, sources said.Mayurbhanj opened it account after Jagatsinghpur, which had earlier did the same by reporting 4.As many as 3060 samples were tested on Wednesday in Odisha while 28 of those tested positive, sources added.
Jajpur reported highest 55 including 1 cured and 54 active followed by Khurda 47 including 31 cured, 14 active and 2 dead. Balasore bordering West Bengal reported 25 including 5 discharged and 20 active, Ganjam, home turf of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, reported 21 and all are active.
Bhadrak reported 21 including 12 active and 9 cured, Sundargarh has so far 12 cases including 5 active and 7 cured. Jagatsinghpur reported 4 and all active, Mayurbhanj’s 4 active while 2 each from Balangir, Keonjhar and Jharsuuda reported and were active.
Cuttack reported 2 including 1 active and 1 cured followed by Kendrapara 3 reported including 1 active and 2 cured. Kalahandi reported 2 and later cured while Koraput reported 1, which was active . Deogarh also reported 1 and cured later while 1 each reported from Dhenkanal and Puri were reported 1 each and cured later. Total 205 including 142 active and 61 cured and 2 dead.
