BHUBANESWAR: A high level delegation led by Union Coal Ministry will pay a visit to Coal Gasification plant at Angul in Odisha on Saturday and the is expected to provide an opportunity to professionals engaged in setting up of coal gasification plants in India to gain first-hand knowledge about the functioning of gasification plant.
Officials of Coal India Ltd and its subsidiaries, BHEL, SCCL, NLCIL, Hindalco, Vedanta, HCL, NALCO, Tata Steel, EPIROC, GAINWELL, EIL, STM Constructions, Synata Bio, Air Products and many other companies are expected to visit JSP’s Angul plant.
Meanwhile, JSP Chairman, Naveen Jindal on Friday reviewed operations and projects with the teams at JSP Angul.
The visit of the High level delegation to JSP’s Coal Gasification Plant assumes significant with India’s hydrogen demand is likely to increase to 11.7 million tonnes by 2030 from 6.7 million tonnes per year as of now.
Refineries and fertilizer plants are the largest consumers of hydrogen now, which is being produced from natural gas. It can be produced through coal in the processes during coal gasification.
