Naveen inaugurates Indoor Stadium at Hinjlicut in Ganjam

BHUBANESWAR/CHHTRAPUR/BERHAMPUR: In a major boost to sports infrastructure in #Odisha, Chief Minister  Naveen Patnaik inaugurated an Indoor Stadium at Hinjilicut, Multi-purpose indoor stadium at Chhatrapur, Ganjam and 10m, 50m (renovated) Shooting ranges at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. #OdishaForSports

The Shooting ranges have been developed by Aditya Birla Group under guidance of Gagan Narang as part of partnership on Shooting High Performance Centre. It is one of its kind facilities in Eastern India which is equipped to train 60 athletes per day, from beginner to elite level. #SportsCapitalofIndia

CM also announced that a synthetic turf hockey training centre will open in Chhatrapur in recognition of rich hockey culture in the region and nurture hockey talent. CM asserted that there will be transformation in sports development under #5T initiatives to nurture world class sports talent.

During the ceremony, ace athlete Dutee Chand has been given out-of-turn promotion in Odisha Mining Corporation for receiving Arjun Award. CM said that Odisha will continue to support sports persons in their endeavour to achieve excellence.

The CM thanked Kumar Mangalam Birla and Olympian Gagan Narang for their commitment to promote young talents in Odisha.Among others Berhampur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahoo, Aska MP Pramila Bisoi Senior Vice President of National Rifle Association of India Kalikesh Narayan Singhdeo, Olympian Gagan Narang, also spoke on the occasion.

Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera handed over the out-of-turn promotion order to Dutee Chand for receiving Arjun Award.Principal Secretary Sports & Youth Services Vishal Dev gave the welcome address, and Director of Sports R Vineel Krishna offered the vote of thanks. A video on sports infrastructure in Odisha was screened.  Secretary to Chief Minister, V K Pandian moderated the program. MLAs of Ganjam district, Chief Secretary, Asit Tripathy Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and other dignitaries were also present.
