Naveen inaugurates Gandhi Peace Centre in Bhubaneswar

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was on Saturday inaugurated the Gandhi Peace Centre here. The Centre is being built with support from CSR funds of Aditya Birla Group.

Odisha Culture and Tourism Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, senior Minister Ashok Panda, Rajashree Birla, Chairperson, Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiative and Rural Development and Odisha Khadi Board Chairman Sangram Paikaray were among those graced the occasion.

Besides, BJD MPs Bhartuhari Mahatab, Prasanna Acharya and former MP Prasanna Patsani and other also attended the functions besides officials from Aditya Birla Group.

Chief Minister Patnaik hoped that the Gandhi Peace Centre will spread Gandhian values and will inspires many to follow the path of truth and non-violence.

Built over 5 acres of land, the centre has six galleries, where items related to the Mahatma have been put up for display.  ‘Ahinsa Stambha’ and a ‘selfie zone’ are the other main attractions.

The centre will conduct a multimedia show on Gandhi’s ideology of truth, non-violence and policy of Jainism till March 15.  This apart, a debate and bhajan programme will also be organised.
