BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday deeply condole the death of Veteran Ollywood actor Ajit Das.
Das, 77, who had tested positive for COVID-19, breathed his last at a private hospital here.
“I am deeply condoling the sad demise of Veteran actor Ajit Das,” said Chief Minister Patnaik. “ I was shocked and pained with the demise of senior Odia film artist Ajit Das,” Union Minister Pradhan said.
Born on January 20, 1949, Das commenced his journey in 1976 as an antagonist in the movie Sindura Bindu. He appeared in more than 60 films. Some of those were Hakim Babu, Maa, Tundabaida.He was also the former Head of the Department of Drama at Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya. The actor was last seen in Arindam-Elina starrer movie ‘Ishq Punithare’.
According to sources, the actor had tested positive for COVID-19. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. However, he succumbed on Sunday.
