BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan have deeply expressed their condolences on the passing away of former President and Bharat Ratna, Pranab Mukharjee , who passed away on Monday at an Army Hospital in New Delhi.
“Deeply saddened to know about the demise of former President #PranabMukherjee. #PranabDa was a prolific reader, powerful orator & scholar and had an unparalleled experience in governance. He will always be remembered for his exceptional ability to forge consensus on national issues. RIP,” Naveen Patnak tweeted while sharing old memories with late Pranab Da.
“Pained to learn about the demise of one of the most respected politicians, former President of India and Bharat Ratna, Shri Pranab Mukherjee. A man of immense knowledge and wisdom, Pranab da left an indelible mark on Indian polity with a career spanning over five decades.From being India’s youngest Finance Minister to becoming the 13th President of India, Pranab da served the nation with distinction. He was always valued for his political acumen, understanding of parliamentary procedures and ability to build consensus across Party lines.I was often a recipient of Pranab da’s wisdom during my interactions with him,” Union Minister Pradhan tweeted.
“I, especially, cherish the memories of our visit to Jangipur in 2017, his former LS constituency, where he handed over the 2.5 croreth LPG connection under #PMUY. It was an emotional moment for him.A statesman, a doyen of Indian politics, Pranab da’s passing away is a personal loss for me. He leaves behind a lasting legacy and a void in Indian polity that will be difficult to fill,” Pradhan added.
