NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP National Vice-President, Baijayant Panda have condoled the death of Bharat Ratna, Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away at 92.
Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away due to a multi-organ failure in Mumbai on Sunday morning. Mangeshkar, who was known as the ‘Queen of Melody’ and the ‘Nightingale of India’, breathed her last at 8:12 am in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. She had tested positive for Covid-19 with mild symptoms on January 8 and was undergoing treatment.
“Deeply saddened to know about the passing away of legendary singer #LataMangeshkar. The ‘Melody Queen of India’ leaves a void in our collective consciousness. She will live through her melody for eternity. My thoughts & prayers are with the bereaved family & her countless fans,” Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said.
“Extremely sad at the passing away of the doyen of music, Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar ji. Her voice has cut across genres, regions and generations, and has touched the lives of people across the globe. Her departure has left a deep void but generations will continue being enthralled by her vast body of work. My deep gratitude for all that she has done for us, for the country. Deepest condolences to her family and friends. ॐ शांति,” Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said.
“The voice that entranced billions is no more. Lata Ji’s songs deeply touched our souls in love & sadness, fun & frolic, hopes & dreams.She ruled our consciousness for so many decades in a way that made her immortal for the ages. No one came close to her hold over us.Om ShantiFolded hands,” BJP National VP Baijayant Jay Panda said.
