JAGATSINGHPUR/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP National VP-Spokesperson, Baijayant ‘Jay Panda have condole the death of senior BJD leader and Tirtol MLA, Bishnu Charan Das, who passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Monday. He was 66.
Bishnu Charan Das had won five times from Jagatsinghpur Assembly Constituency and once from Tirtol constituency. He is also former Rajya Sabha member, Ex-Minister, and Ex-deputy chairman of the Odisha State Planning Board.
The Odisha CM said that Das was a popular politician, an able organiser, and administrator. His contributions to Odisha as a Minister, Parliamentarian, and MLA will be remembered till eternity. His contribution to the development of Jagatsinghpur district is noteworthy.
He had dedicated his entire life to the upliftment of the Dalits and socially suppressed people in the society, the Odisha CM added. Naveen further said that Das played a pivotal role in strengthening the organisational structure of Biju Janata Dal. He was fondly respected among all, irrespective of party affiliation, for his liberal attitude. The Odisha CM conveyed his deep condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the department soul to rest in peace.
Union Minister Pradhan also hailed Das and said costal Odisha lost a great son. BJP National VP-Spokesperson, Panda also recollected his associations with late MLA Das.
