NABARANGPUR: Nabarangpur police has seized illegally acquired property worth around Rs 4.77 crore and traced cash transaction of around Rs 4.59 crore.
“Nawrangpur Police has obtained order of Competent Authority confirming freezing of property of drug traffickers worth 4.59 crore rupees under NDPS Act .This is highest ever seizure/ freezing of property by Odisha Police under NDPS Act .Well done Nawrangpur Police,”DGP, Odisha tweeted @DGPOdisha.
The police arrested three persons in this connection- Prabhakar Mali, Anirudha Mali and Ramesh Mali of Panarguda village under Kosagumda police limits in the district. The three accused support narcotics operation in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.Two cases under Section-20 (b) (ii) (C) of NDPS Act are pending against the accused at Kosagumuda and Papadahandi police stations, said police.
The property seized by the police in this connection include four buildings, a 4.82 acre land, a bullet, a scooter, a car and two tractors. Besides, cash amounting to 9.76 lakh has been sealed.Tracing illegal financial transaction of Rs 4.59 crore, the police froze all 14 accounts. Further investigation is underway to trace the buyer of NDPS.
The involved accused persons are actual brains behind narcotic bussiness in Nabarangpur district. They were involved in supplying ganja to many states through illegal network. They are involved in many NDPS act cases. Upon investigation the following seizure of property was made along with property mentioned. Further financial investigation is going on to trace the buyer of NDPS by Nabarangpur Police.
