NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: BJD President Naveen Patnaik on Friday expelled Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar from Party’s Primary Membership for his anti-Party activities. MP Kumar also resigned from BJD and Rajya Sabha. Kumar handed over his resignation to Vice President Jaideep Dankar.
MP Kumar was under scanner of Party President Patnaik for his praising to Union Railways Ministry for a Railway line project in his home district of Kalahandi. The MP had clarified this after media highlighted his close proximity with BJP.
‘He has let down the Party which sent him to Rajya Sabha and hoped and aspirations of people of Odisha,’ Patnaik said in a letter to MP informing about the decision of the Party.
