BHUBANESWAR:    The Naveen Patnaik led the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha, on Wednesday appointed Party’s MP and National Spokesperson, Manas Ranjan Mangaraj as its Chief Whip in the Rajya Sabha.Mangaraj was elected to the Upper House of the Parliament in 2022.

“Manas Ranjan Mangaraj, MP, Rajya Sabha is hereby appointed as Chief Whip of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Rajya Sabha with immediate effect,” the party said in a release.

“I express my gratitude to BJD President and Hon’ble CM Shri @Naveen_Odisha for reposing trust in me and appointing me as the Chief Whip of Biju Janata Dal in Rajya Sabha.I will leave no stones unturned to live up to his expectations, and will try my best to do justice to the role assigned to me,’ MP Mangaraj said in an X Post.

 It may be noted here that, apart from MP in Rajya Sabha and National Spokesperson, Mangaraj is also BJD’s General Secretary (Media Affairs) and Party’s Organisational In-charge for Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s home turf of Ganjam. Earlier, the Party had appointed MP Dr Sasmit Patra , as its leader in Rajya Sabha.
