CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: It seems, the legal battle between Kendrapara BJD Lok Sabha MP Anubhav Mohanty and his estranged actress wife, Varsha Priyadarshini may likely take an ugly turn if matters not shorted out early, sources said after the MP released his 4th vedio while Varsha moved High Court.
Actress Varsha has filed a petition with Orissa High Court seeking orders to stop ‘fake and hate campaigns’ against her on social media. She has made her husband MP Mohanty, Odisha government and the I&B Ministry parties in her petition. Irked at the videos posted by MP Mohanty over various social media platforms, Varsha approached the HC again alleging that the videos being shared by the actor-turned-politician on social media platforms are defamatory and maligning her image.
Meanwhile, MP Anubhav has shared his 4th video in a row. In today’s latest video, Anubhav requested everyone to love their parents and shared about the new rented house in which he and his family members are currently residing.
He also expressed gratitude to his fans for standing by him and his family. He further claimed that he has always spoken the truth and would never do anything that will let his parents and fans down.
Police registered a case under Sections 509 of the IPC and 67 of the IT Act against MP Mohanty. Further probe by police was underway.
On May 22, Varsha had filed 1st complaint against Anubhav at the Purighat police station in Cuttack. Varsha in her complaint accused Mohanty of posting videos on social media and creating fabricated stories about her. She further said the parliamentarian in the video provided false information on her, thereby tarnishing her image.
Earlier , Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Cuttack, Pinak Mishra had said that the FIR against Kendrapara Mohanty is being analyzed and legal action will be taken in accordance with the law if the charges are found cognizable.
Anubhav had claimed that Varsha has forced him to take the matter over social media. “Varsha has no evidence against me. If necessary, I will go to the supreme court also” he said. He has further challenged Varsha to go through forensic, lie detection, and medical tests.
MP Mohanty had also posted the order sheets of his divorce case on his official Twitter account and wrote “True copies of Family Court’s order sheets in my Divorce case for all to know that who sincerely wanted to restrict media & who strongly objected saying, nobody can stop media! But now, FIR against me! Have patience Varsha Priyadarshini, It’s just the beginning!”.
“I will knock on the doors of the highest possible court of law which is honourable Supreme Court of India to bring the truth to the fore. I will expose each and every truth behind you. I challenge you to undergo forensic, lie detection and medical test,” he had said
