BHUBANESWAR/KENDRAPARA: BJD Kendrapara Lok Sabha MP and a leading Odia Film Star, Anubhav Mohanty has expressed his happiness after the Odisha Government with keen interest of Chief Minister Patnaik, announced Rs 200 Crore financial package to revive defunt Kalinga Studio in Bhubaneswar.
“As an Artist, I thank Hon’ble Shri Naveen Patnaik Sir for allocating ₹200Cr for redevelopment of the historic #KalingaStudio. The Studio has been a milestone of #Odia Film & Television Industry. The State Government has decided to establish a modern state-of-the-art film hub at the Kalinga Studio in Bhubaneswar. Considering the business prospects of Kalinga Studio in film industry, Chief Secretray Suresh Mohapatra Mohapatra had directed to develop it as a “modern state of the art futuristic studio with competitive business models.”The Chief Secretary also directed to “Make the unit employment intensive.
Target was set to complete the construction and landscaping of the core support area by December, 2022. Notably, the Chief Secretary, after a recent visit to the Kalinga Studio for situational review had directed the department to come up with a redevelopment plan.
Development Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Jena is closely monitoring it.The estimated plan of around Rs.200 crore was approved in meeting. Zone-1 would have the facilities like indoor shooting floors, shooting facades, central country yard, film tech zone, commercial space and cafeteria. Zone-2 would have outdoor shooting facilitates, shooting locales, theme based shooting gardens, kids zones, castle view, snow world and adventure land. Zone-3 would have food court boarding and lodging facilities for film crew, space for social and wedding destination.
