ANGUL/BHUBANESWAR: With the Jindal Steel and Power Limited Chairman and 2times former MP, Naveen Jindal working overtime with his able team of officials manning Odisha facilities to ensure uninterrupted supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen from JSPL-Angul Steel complex, home turf of Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to various COVID-19 Hospitals across India , State Police led by able DGP Abhay and his team led ADGP(Law-Order), YK Jethwa, on Thursday averted a major problem with pro-active North-Central DIG , Dr Sarthak Sarangi and Angul Police led by SP Jagmohan Meena responding to the crisis in timely manner and ensuring smooth movement of LMO.
A Press Statement issued by the office of Odisha DGP, said, due to prompt response of Odisha Police oxygen supply operations continued uninterrupted from JSPL Angul. “Day or night, amidst rains or heat, our operation of prompt delivery of oxygen continues.Today, one oxygen tanker of JSPL broke down under Banarpal PS of Angul district. Angul police acted swiftly. Mechanic was arranged. Tanker was repaired. It has now left for its destination Vijaywada,”
Earlier, on 08.05.2021, two tankers carrying oxygen from Angul met with accident, one at Hindol Ghati, Cuttack and other at Banki, Khordha. In a swift joint operation by the SPs and police teams of 3 districts under the coordination of ADGP (L&O), JCBs and cranes were arranged, the tankers were brought on road, repaired by bringing mechanics and spares at the spot and their journeys resumed without any delay. Odisha Police will leave no stone unturned and is committed to ensure prompt and unhindered supply of Oxygen to all deficit states.
It may be noted here that JSPL continually produces LMO at its oxygen plant within the steel complex at Angul and tankers are filled in round the clock. The tankers are being dispatched to several States who need medical Oxygen like Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Delhi NCR, Madhya Pradesh , Haryana and Maharashtra and several other states as per the advice of the Government. A dedicated team, under the direct supervision of JSPL’s Chairman Naveen Jindal, are working day and night to ensure the timely dispatch of oxygen as per Government directive.
JSPL –Angul in Odisha, which has earned huge praise for its pro-active and people friendly approach, since April has been supplying Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) from its 6 MTPA mega steel complex at Angul, Odisha. Several hospitals across the country have received oxygen despatched through tankers as per the Government advice“JSPL has been always standing with the Country and Countrymen during calamities and emergencies and will continue to do so during this Pandemic.
