BHUBANESWAR: The day temperature in districts of interior Odisha including western districts will continue to record more than 40 degree Celsius at most of the places and some places may record between 43 and 45 degree Celsius during 16th-19th April,22.Coastal districts temp may rise during the same period 16th-19th April but temp may increase 40 uto 41 degree Celsius on 17th and 18th April 22 at Bhubaneswar, Cuttack,Baleswar and Chandbali due to absence of sea breeze from Bay of Bengal.Temp will decrease from 20th April at both coastal and interior districts due to strengthening of sea breeze in coastal districts.
There is probability of kalabaisakhi from 14th to 16th April in south interior and coastal districts including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack due to approach of westerly upper air trough from central India to Coastal Odisha. Kalabaisakhi may prevail after 20th April in Odisha again.
As per IMD model forecast, southwest monsoon rainfall will be normal during June to September in 2022 due to favourable La-Nina condition over equatorial Pacific Ocean now and also during monsoon period and moreover neutral Indian Ocean Dipole now but negative dipole just after onset of monsoon in Indian Ocean.Sea surface temp over Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean control the monsoon rain over Indian subcontinent, these are favorable, so monsoon rain will be normal 96-104% from June to September 2022, that is 99% of long period average with plus or minus 5% error.The long period average rainfall 87cm based on 1971- 2020 period.
