BHUBANESWAR: When the election comes, BJD does all kinds of exercises to cover up the accusations against it. BJD is well aware of how the electoral system has destroyed the peace of Odisha and the people of Odisha in the wake of 24 years of clean governance. Today, every orthodox is worried about his identity. Aware of his plight, BJD continues to openly violate the code of conduct for the fear of losing the BJD election. Sometimes voters are made to swear to pass the election campaign and sometimes women are made to campaign. State Vice President Mr. Golak Mahapatra said that despite BJP’s repeated opposition to such malpractices of BJD, it is unfortunate that BJD does not refrain from it.
A delegation of BJP led by state vice-president Shri Golak Mohapatra met the chief election officer of the state with facts and evidence today and demanded to take exemplary action on the issue of violation of the rules of conduct of open elections of the ruling BJD. Mr. Mohapatra demanded that the Chief Electoral Officer of the State investigate the matter and take strict steps to make the general election arbitrary and impartial.
Mission Shakti was started to empower the women of Odisha financially, but BJD is taking the women and putting them in campaigning for votes for “Video Chief Minister”. State Mission Shakti Chairperson Sujatha Karthikeyan is fully employing Mission Shakti’s BLF and DLF women mothers in BJD campaign by spending government money. On the instructions of Mission Energy Commissioner Sujatha Karthikeyan, all district heads of the state are bearing all the transport costs of BLFs and DLFs in their areas. This action of BLF, DLF and GPLF is in flagrant violation of Section 123 of the RP Act, 1951. The BJP has demanded immediate action against the Mayurbhan District Chairperson Bishnupriya Das to stop the unethical activities under the direction of Sujatha Karthikeyan and to arrest her.
Mission Energy Department of Odisha issued a letter on 2.11.2023 that as many as BLF and DLF will campaign for the Chief Minister in this election. BLF and DLF are saying that we are not government employees, we have orders to propagate BJD. BJP has handed over the video to the CEO. Mr. Mohapatra demanded that strict action should be taken against those who are driving vehicles under the orders of the Mission Shakti Department and they should be dismissed from their posts and arrested and the scooty should be seized from him.
Similarly, BJD MP candidate Manmath Rautray and MLA Sura Rautray campaigning for votes by hurting the religious sentiments of the voters is a complete violation of Article 123. Similarly, in order to win the BJD by voting, they hold Jagannath’s Dhanda and Lingaraj’s shoes and swear to the voters, which is a violation of the election rules. BJP has demanded that strict action be taken against them. State Secretary Kasthuri Mishra, State Spokesperson Dilip Mallik, State Election Cell Coordinator Jayant Jena, Sucharita Jenamani, Padmaja Debata were prominent in this delegation.
