NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: The Ministry of Railways announces Ex gratia of ₹ 10 Lakh to the family of deceased, ₹ 5 Lakh towards grievous injuries, ₹ 1 Lakh for simple injuries in the train 12810 derailment.
Ministry of Railways revises the amount of ex-gratia relief paid to the dependents of dead and injured passengers involved in train accidents and untoward incidents. Maximum amount of upto Rs. 50,000/- to be paid in cash as an immediate relief for taking care of initial expenses.
Train No. 12810 Howara-CSMT Express derailed near Chakradharpur, between Rajkharswan West Outer and Barabamboo in Chakradharpur division at around 3:45 am.
On the train derailment incident, Jharkhand Minister Banna Gupta says, “I express condolences towards the bereaved families on behalf of CM Hemant Soren.CM has said that we will be cooperative with the railways in any kind of assistance required.Rs 2 lakhs would be given to bereaved families and Rs. 50,000 to those who are injured. The state government will also take up all expenditures related to their treatment.
Seraikela Kharsawan SP, Mukesh Lunayat said that all the injured have been rescued and admitted to the hospital. The NDRF team has also reached the spot and almost 300 police personnel have been deployed.The rescue operation is almost complete and we are moving towards the restoration process.
Senior DCM Chakradharpur Railway Division, Aditya Kumar Chaudhary said “Train no 12810 Howrah-Mumbai got derailed.All the passengers have been evacuated and have been shifted to Chakradharpur by special trains and buses. The special train will run from Chakradharpur to Mumbai as per the detailed timings. Two people have died and five injured are being treated at railway hospital.Rescue operation is completed and restoration is going on
