Ministry of Home Affairs directs Mohan Charan Majhi led BJP Government in Odisha to Immediately Relive Tainted IPS officer Ashish Singh, who posted as IGP , ITBP for 5 years

BHUBANESWAR:   The Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led BJP Government in Odisha received yet another jolt after the Ministry of Home Affairs directs Mohan Charan Majhi led BJP Government in Odisha to Relive Tainted IPS officer Ashish  Singh, who posted as IGP , ITBP for 5 years.

The BJP Government has posted Singh , an IPS officer of 2004 batch as OSD Home after his name came under scanner for his role favouring Naveen Patnaik’s BJD during last Parliamentary and Assembly polls. Singh was transferred as IGP CM security and later posted as OSD.

In  a letter to Odisha Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kumar Under Secretary to Government, informed about Singh’s posting as IGP , ITBP for 5 years.

‘I am directed to refer to the subject mentioned above and to convey approval of the competent authority for appiotment of Ashish Singh as IGP, ITBP for a period of 5 years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, which ever earlier,’ MHA said.

‘It is therefore, requested that Ashish Singh may be relived immediately to enable him to take up his new assignment at the Centre, it said.

It may be noted that the Odisha Government had served a show cause notice on Ashish Singh while what reply came , not known yet while IPS Officer is all set to leave Odisha.
