BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Civil Supplies, Consumer Welfare and Cooperation Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain has presented the Credit Approval Letter to Managing Director Odisha State Cooperative Bank (OSCB), Gopabandhu Satapathy here on Wednesday.
NABARD has sanctioned Rs.26 Crore from its Agriculture Infrastructure Fund for Odisha, which will help the State to turn near about 100 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) into Multi Service Center(MSC)s.
In the 1st Phase, in 100 PACS, Storage Complex, Agri Products Processing Facilities, Market complex, Storage Center, Ware Houses, Weigh Bridge, e Marketing Platform, Packaging Facilities, Agro Storage and Agri Supply Chain will be established.
NABARD has earmarked Rs 5,000 crore during FY21 for turning PACS into multi service centers, which are one-stop shops for meeting the varied needs of the farmers. As many as 5,000 PACS will be upgraded this year followed by 15,000 PACS in FY22 and 15,000 PACS in FY23, it said.
Minister Swain held a Video Conference in OSCB and held detailed discussion with District Central Cooperative Bank Chief Executives and District Registrar Coop Societies (DRCS) and Assistant Registrar Coop Societies(ARCS).
