BHUBANESWAR: The Economic Offence Wing of Odisha Police CID CB is all set to take Mines Mafia BJD Leader Raja Chakra close aid Sushant Samal will be taken on remand following his arrest by the investigating agency on Thursday.
Both Samal and Raja Chakra are likely to be faced off before the EOW. Raja Chakra was already on 3 days remand of the EOW. The agency is interrogating the accused after it obtain his remand.
Sushant said to be the key player in Raja Chakra’s financial transactions, and was trusted man for the Mines mafia , who looted Suakati mines of Odisha Mining Corporation through a society named Gandhamardhan Transport Cooperative Society of Keonjhar district.
The EOW had registered a case against Raja Chakra on March 7 under Sections 406, 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, and 120-B of the IPC, based on a complaint from a villager residing near the Gandhamardan Mines in Keonjhar district. Raja Chakra has founded Sankar Mineral, Shankar Transporting Shankar Roadways and Sankar Project etc. to run his business.
A large scale of corruption amounting near about Rs 500 Crore reported in Gandhamardhan Transport Cooperative Society of Keonjhar district, which operates Odisha Mining Corporation run Suakati Mines.
