CUTTACK/BHUBANSWAR: The prestigious Odisha T-20 Cricket League was inaugurated on Sunday at Barabati Stadium. In the inaugural function Debasish Mohanty (Newly appointed Selector of BCCI for Senior Selection Team) was felicitated by the office bearers of OCA.
Mohanty was present as the Chief Guest in the inaugural ceremony also. Pankaj Lochan Mohanty(President, OCA), A K Samant (Vice President, OCA),Sanjay Behera(Secretary, OCA) ,Mr Bikash Pradhan(Treasurer, OCA) Mr Suvasish Senapati( Member, Apex Council) & Mr Abakash Khatua( Member, Apex Council) were present.
Subrat Kumar Behera ( C E O) presided over the proceedings. The other dignitaries present in the inaugural ceremony were Mr Susant Chandra Mohanty ( Member OCA) and many more other dignitaries.
The Inaugural match was played between ODISHA PANTHERS vs ODISHA PUMAS which begun at 3:30 PM IST. The 2nd game of the day scheduled to be played between ODISHA CHEETAHS vs ODISHA TIGERS at 7:30 PM.
Pankaj Lochan Mohanty (President, OCA) gave away the Man of the Match award to Pradeep K. Pradhan – the PANTHERS speedster for his outstanding bowling performance who bagged 4 crucial wickets with a bowling figure of 4-0-20-4.
The MGM Company has obtained the title sponsorship for this event. This event is being organized in accordance to the Govt Permission, and a Bio Secure Bubble has been created. All the players, Officials have gone through the RT-PCR test and only COVID-19 Negative are being allowed to participate in this event.
OCA has recently conducted the Senior Men Inter District T-20 League, in which 37 affiliated units participated. From this the Senior Men Selection Committee of OCA has scouted 93 best players for MGM Odisha T-20 Cricket League and have been divided into 6 teams. Each team have two support staffs one Coach and one Manager.
