CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR:Members of the State IPS Association have expressed their condolences on the demise of former IPS officer Late Shri Debendra Prasad Das. In this regard, a condolence meeting was held at the conference hall of the DGP camp office in Bhubaneswar this afternoon under the chairmanship of State Director General of Security Shri Yogesh Bahadur Khurania.
On this occasion, floral tributes were offered to the photograph of Swargat Das and silent prayers were offered for the repose of his immortal soul. The State IPS Association expressed its deepest condolences to the family of Swargat Das.
Addressing the condolence meeting, DGP Shri Khurania said that Swargat Das earned a reputation as an efficient, hardworking and dedicated IPS officer. During his long career, he served in various important positions and performed his duties efficiently and enhanced the prestige and reputation of Odisha Police. He said that his demise is an irreparable loss to the society and the police department. Apart from this, Swargat Das created his own identity by composing many melodious songs for Odia films, the DGP said. He also recalled some unforgettable memories related to Swargat Das and expressed his condolences to his family.
At the beginning, Shri Soumendra Priyadarshi, Secretary of the State IPS Association and Additional Director General of Security (Modernization), shed light on the career of Swargat Dash. He also mentioned his contribution to the world of music and film.
IGP (Personnel) Shri S. Praveen Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police Shri Narasingh Bhola, BPSPA (Training) Shri Anup Kumar Sahu, IGP (Crime Branch) Dr. Sarthak Sarangi were prominently present in today’s condolence meeting.
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Shri Sanjay Kumar, DIG (Provisioning) Shri Charan Singh Meena, DIG (Personnel) Shri B. Jugok Kishore were prominently present in this condolence meeting through virtual medium.
