Massive response to PM Modi’s ‘ Switch Off Lights’ call in Odisha as COVID-19 cases reach at 39

BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK/BALASORE/SAMBALPUR:  The eastern Indian State of Odisha, which so far reported 39 positive COVID-19 cases , was on Sunday night responded well to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with people from State’s Capital city of Bhubaneswar to Millennium City of Cuttack and western Odisha city of Sambalpur to Balasore in eastern while Berhampur in Southern, joining hands together with rural belts to switched off their lights at home for 9 minutes from 9 pm to 9.09 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged all countrymen to switch off their lights for 9 minutes at 9pm on Sunday and had asked them to light diyas, candles or use the flashlight of their mobile phones as a sign of solidarity in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, with reports of fresh 16 positive COVID-19 cases, the figure reach at 39.  All the fresh 16 cases , were reported from Bhubaneswar, sources said. Till Sunday afternoon, the figure was at 23 but later in night, it touched at 39 with fresh 16 cases.
