Manoj Sinha lays Foundation Stone in Puri

PURI/BHUBANESWAR:Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Communications (Independent charge) and Minister of State for Railways,  laid the Foundation Stone for Improvement of the Circulating area at Puri Railway Station, on Saturday, in presence of Pinaki Mishra, Member of Parliament (LokSabha)/from Puri; Maheswar Mohanty,  MLA/Puri & Shri Basant Kumar Panda,  MLA/Nuapada & BJP State President/Odisha.

Remembering the brave souls of Odisha like Chandan Hajuri Jayakrushna Rajguru, and the “Panchasakhas” and also to recount their sacrifices for this country, Shri Sinha said that he is very happy to pay homage to the great souls in their birth place and felt lucky to be in this sacred land offreedom fighters, saluting the spirit of this land & its people.

Informing the public Shri Sinha said that, Indian Railways is giving importance to Odisha & priority to Puri Railway Station. The first priority given by Ministry of Railways was to pending Rail Projects where doubling of line to Puri from Delang was given highest importance. Railway is one of the very few organisations to have completed all its work and kept its commitment. Our attention is focussed on completion of pending projects like Khurda Road-Balangir project, Haridaspur-Paradeep and Angul-Sukinda lines.  These are monitored by the highest levels in this government.

Sinha also said that, highest ever allocations has been given to projects in Odisha in the last two years beating all records. The foundation-stone for improvement of circulating area is just one among the various steps being taken by Railways to improve this station and its infrastructure and many projects are lined up for the near future also for Puri and its nearby stations.

Speaking on the occasion, Pinaki Mishra,Maheswar Mohantry,  MLA/Puri &  Basant Panda,  praised the initiatives taken by Indian Railways for improvement of the region.

Earlier, East Coast Railway Additional General Manager  B. N. Mahapatra welcomed the Guests & informed about the performance of ECoR. P. Raveendran, Divisional Railway Manager/Khurda Road offered vote of thanks.
