BHUBANESWAR: On Thursday, Manoj Mohanty, Section Officer, officer of SDVO ( Sub Divisioal Veterinary Officer), Puri has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe amount of Rs. 6,000/- from a staffer (Complainant) of Rench, Nimapara Block under jurisdiction of SDVO for processing drawl of EV (Electric Vehicle) advance in respect of complainant and three others.
As the requisite amount had already been sanctioned in favour of the staffers by the Govt, but Sri Mohanty was delaying the process for drawl and was demanding bribe Rs.6,000/- for drawl of sanctioned amount. Left with no other option, complainant reported the matter to Vigilance authorities. Following which Vigilance Sleuths nabbed Sri Mohanty today, while taking bribe Rs. 6000/- from the complt.
