BHUBANESWAR: Manoj Ahuja, Odisha Chief Secretary -One person, but two high profile government quarters (one in Bhubaneswar and the other in Delhi)
The Resident Commissioner’s office does not have any information about who is living in the flat in Delhi. This means that it is rented out.
Request to the Hon’ble Chief Minister to immediately investigate this and take action.
On 23.09.2025, I had requested the following information from the office of the Chief Resident Commissioner in New Delhi.
- When was Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja appointed as Chief Resident Commissioner?
- How many times has he gone to the office?
- Which quarter has been allotted to him in Delhi and who is living in this quarter?
The PIO has responded by stating that,
- On 24.01.2025, the State Government appointed Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja as the Chief Resident Commissioner in New Delhi.
- The PIO did not provide any information regarding the number of times the Chief Secretary has visited New Delhi for work. This means that he has never visited Delhi as Chief Resident Commissioner.
- A High Profile Type -VIA Quarter has been allotted to Shri Ahuja in New Delhi. But there is no information about who is living in this quarter.
The question now is, why has Manoj Ahuja been appointed as Chief Resident Commissioner? He has not been able to properly discharge his responsibilities as Chief Secretary. And what is the purpose of the appointment in Delhi?
Mr. Ahuja has been given a huge quarter in New Delhi just for his family and friends. This is a huge waste of our sweaty state treasury.
The rent for this quarter in Delhi will be around two lakh rupees. He has taken this quarter by arresting the Chief Minister just to accommodate his personal people and live for free. This is wasting the state exchequer. Why should government quarters be used for the luxury of a bureaucrat’s family? I am requesting the Chief Minister.
Immediately remove Manoj Ahuja from the post of Chief Resident Commissioner and immediately withdraw the quarters. If this is done, the respect of the Chief Minister will increase and our sweaty state treasury will not be wasted.
