BHUBANESWAR: Mancheswar PS Case No. 122/2023, U/S 394 IPC.Investigating into a series of dicky breaking and mobile snatching cases by a two membered gang of motorcyclist in Bhubaneswar city, Bhubaneswar Police successfully detected those cases by busting and nabbing both the accused persons & seized the used motorcycles along with snatched cash and mobile phones of the complainants.
Modus Operandi and area of operation:-
These gang members belong to notorious “ERAGOLA GANG“ who stay in Ganjam and Jajpur districts. They operate in group and use stolen motor cycles for commission of crime. They generally target the customers going to deposit cash or withdraw cash from banks and keep watch in front of the banks. When customers comes out of bank with cash bag the gang members follow them and taking advantage snatched away the bags or broke open the dickeys or diverts the attention of the target by throwing currency notes or coins and snatch away the cash bag. They also roam around and snatched away costly phones from commuters on road.
Both the arrested accused persons belong to “ERAGOLA GANG “hail from Thengapali village of Ganjam district. They are involved in many cases of cash theft, snatching and mobile snatching and theft cases. The motor cycles used by them also a stolen one from Tangi. After commission of the crime, they shared the cash found from different dickeys & sold out snatched mobile phones to different customers.

One Apache motorcycle.
