Mamata Didi’s June 15 Joint Meeting puts Naveen Patnaik in Quandary

BHUBANESWAR: The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written to 22 opposition leaders including her Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik to participate in a joint meeting in New Delhi on June 15 to discuss about President Poll.

Recently during his New Delhi visit, CM Patnaik had met PM Narendra Modi.  AITC Parliamentary Party leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay had earlier met the BJD Supremo in March this year.

The voting for Presidential elections will be held on July 18 and the counting of votes will take place on July 21. The term of President Ram Nath Kovind ends on July 24.

A total of 4,809 electors to vote in the Presidential elections 2022. No political party can issue a whip to its members. The value of the vote of an MP will be 700. Those in preventive detention can vote and those in jail will have to apply for parole and if they get parole, they can vote.
