KENDRAPARA/AUL/RAJNAGAR/BHUBANESWAR: Voting on Saturday badly affected in the politically sensitive Kendrapara Lok Sabha seat in Odisha during the fourth and final phase due to malfunctioning of EVMs at almost all 7 Assembly segments of this Parliamentary seat. At least 24.03 % polling recorded from Kendrapara Lok Sabha seat till 11 AM, while the figure could have better if EVMs were not found defective, sources said.
BJP’s National Vice President and Uttar Pradesh Election inc charge Baijayant Jay Panda is fighting against BJD’s Anshuman Mohanty and Congress Sidharth Swroop Das for this prestigious Parliamentary seat.
Due to malfunctioning of EVMs , voting stopped at least three time since morning at Booth No-116 inside Bharigada Government Nodal High School in Rajkanika block of Aul Assembly seat under Kendrapara Lok Sabha seat.
The EVM malfunctioning at Booth No 220 and 134 of 97-Kendrapara Assembly seat and Booth No 186 0f 96-Patkura MLA seat, affected voting in these places.
Reports of malfunctioning of EVMs at Booth no 286 under 96-Patkura MLA , which also affected voring.
Sources said, around 20 EVMs is not functioning under Mahakalpada MLA seat.
Voting affected severely at Booth No 178, 189, 190, 191, 193 of 100-Mahakalapada MLA seat due to defective EVMs. Similar situation at booth No 254 under 96-Patkura MLA seat.
While EVM malfunctioning 121, 122, 205 in respect to 97-Kendrapara MLA seat is resolved and voting going on , which was earlier affected due to defective EVMs.
Sources said, on direction of DEO and Collector, VVPAT has been replaced for booth No 106, 117, 136 in respect to 99-Rajnagar MLA seat.
Under Salepur MLA seat, names of several new voters missing in the list, to which BJP drew attention of CEO Odisha to it.
