NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Former Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar, who was expelled from BJD by President Naveen Patnaik, Friday joined BJP at Party’s National Headquarters in New Delhi.
Former MP Kumar joined BJP in presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Cuttack MP Bhartuhari Mahatab, Party election in charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar and National General secretary Arun Singh.
MP Kumar also resigned from BJD and Rajya Sabha. Kumar handed over his resignation to Vice President Jaideep Dankar.
MP Kumar was under scanner of Party President Patnaik for his praising to Union Railways Ministry for a Railway line project in his home district of Kalahandi. The MP had clarified this after media highlighted his close proximity with BJP.
It was major setback as two Rajya Sabha MPs have left BJD and joined BJP. Ealier Mamata Mahant resigned and sent to Rajya Sabha on BJP ticket and now Kumar deserted the BJD and joined BJP.
