BHUBANESWAR: At least two Government officers convicted in Vigilance cases. Madan Mohan Samantaray, Ex- Superintending Engineer(Retd), Irrigation Eastern Circle, Cuttack , who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance for possessing disproportionate assets, was convicted to 2 yrs jail & fine Rs.1,00,000.
Sri Kumar Jena, Ex- RI, (Retd),Pallahara Circle under Pallahara Tahasil, Angul, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance for taking bribe, was convicted to 2 years jail and fine. Every conviction leads to dismissal from service & stoppage of pensions.
