PURI: After a brief halt on Grand Road, the chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra arrived at Saradhabali near the Shree Gundicha Temple here on Thursday. As per the schedule, the deities will be taken to the Adap Mandap inside the Gundicha Temple on Friday.
The pulling of the three chariots, which had been called off on Wednesday as evening set in, resumed at 9 am on Thursday by enthusiastic devotees.
The Daitapatis performed the Mailam, Abakasha and Tadap Lagi rituals of the Lords on Thursday, after which the chariot pulling began. On Wednesday, the Taladhwaja chariot of Lord Balabhadra had stopped near Balagandi Square.
The Darpadalan chariot of Devi Subhadra and the Nandighosa chariot of Lord Jagannath were halted near the Bagala Dharmashala and Shri Nara, respectively.
