BHUBANESWAR: Only about 7 to 10 servitors were on Wednesday allowed to perform the customary rituals for Sital Sasthi Yatra of Lord Lingaraj Temple here. The festival observed in Lingaraj Temple premises without any procession. All servitors mandatorily weared masks and maintain Covid19 social distancing norms during the event.
Earlier, the ‘thala utha’ ritual was held on April 27 without any fanfare.It is observed on the ‘sasthi’ (6th day) during the ‘Shukla Paksha’ (the waxing phase of moon) in the ‘Jyestha’month of the traditional Hindu calendar.
Moreover, no artistes and tableaus will be made for the procession during the observation of the festival. The Lord divine marriage procession this year it will be carried out only from 7 am to 4 pm.
