ANGUL/ROURKELA/JAJPUR: The commitment of Odisha Police in facilitating unhindered transportation of Medical Oxygen continued even today amidst the challenge of Cyclone YAAS. Besides coordinating the interstate movement of Oxygen tankers, the State Police also ensured the supply of Medical Oxygen to the hospitals in Odisha.
60 formations of ODRAF were deployed in the vulnerable districts for keeping the highways and arterial roads clear of blockade due to fallen trees, electric poles, etc.Advanced planning was done and SOP prepared for ensuring smooth Oxygen movement, while ensuring the safety of Oxygen Production Centres, Tankers, Drivers and other staff.
Today, 4 oxygen tankers were sent from Angul to Hyderabad & Visakhapatnam and 2 from Jajpur to Berhampur and Bhubaneswar in Odisha under close supervision and escort of Odisha Police and all scheduled tankers movements were completed unhindered.
In the last 34 days, Odisha Police has, through a dedicated green corridor, facilitated the loading and transport of 22542.895 MT of Medical Oxygen in 1226 tankers to 15 deficit States, namely Andhra (7295 MT), Telengana (5527 MT), Haryana (3089 MT), Tamil Nadu (2055 MT), Madhya Pradesh (1164 MT), Uttar Pradesh (1196 MT), Maharastra (660 MT), Chhattisgarh (630 MT), Delhi (410 MT), Karnataka (152 MT), Kerala (127 MT), Punjab (105 MT), Bihar (67 MT), Rajasthan (39 MT) and Chandigarh (25 MT).Odisha police will leave no stone unturned and is committed to ensure prompt and unhindered supply of oxygen to all deficit states.
